3D Areola Repigmentation

WHAT IS 3D AREOLA REPIGMENTATION? IS IT PERMANENT?
3D Areola Repigmentation is a medical tattoo that looks like a three dimensional areola and nipple. Any time pigment is implanted in the skin, it is considered a permanent procedure. However, based on the type of pigment used, condition of the skin, age, health, environmental factors, and the skill level of the artist, there will be a certain amount of fading over time.

DOES IT HURT?
We use top of the line anesthetics prior to and during the procedure to ensure the process is as comfortable as possible. Many who have had mastectomies or undergone radiation report that they have lost feeling in the area, but as a precaution we use topical anesthetics on all clients. For females we recommend scheduling during a time that they will not be menstruating, as this can intensify any discomfort they may feel. Additionally, all clients who are medically able may take Tylenol (acetaminophen ONLY) an hour prior to the procedure.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?
Typically it takes around 27 days for our skin to completely regenerate. This means that around 27 days after a procedure, all of the skin has been replaced by brand new skin, how cool is that? While it can take between 4-6 weeks for complete regeneration, the most obvious parts of the healing process typically are over in 1-2 weeks. Depending on the health of your skin, age, medical conditions, medications, and your general overall health, healing can take more or less time.

HOW LONG UNTIL I CAN RETURN TO WORK?
Most clients can return to work and normal activities immediately following their procedure.
